THE NEW AGE MOVEMENT

The seeds of the NewAge Movement, in which contemporary people try to find an answer for their search for meaning, were sown in this postmodern agnostic environment as an expression of multiple truths theory and a reaction to rigid rationalism.

By replacing rationalism with irrationalism, consistency with normlessness, meaning with absurdism and pluralism with monism, many so-called, spiritual-looking books with no meaning have sprung like mushrooms on the bookshelves. People’s belief gaps have been commodified and exploited by false gurus, sheiks, and life coaches. These “movements” with the superficial look of metaphysics, such as Sufism, or Far-eastern Mysticism, are not similar to the real teachings at all, in terms of content.

The New Age movement is an absurdity from a religious and metaphysical point of view because it is a combination of ideas and beliefs from occultism or preternatural that may fill the Void, but temporarily.

These kinds of movement-mania completely disregard and simply jump over the wisdom accumulated by the East for centuries, in an incredibly ignorant manner, and offer people some meditation, yoga, or mind-draining techniques by entirely detaching these practices from their religious context and integrity. In this way, religious lifestyle and practices become secularized once more supporting the God for Human illusion, transformed into a pleasant activity, as if the participants are practicing a kind of sports activity or a massage therapy to relieve stress. In order to ensure egoistic satisfaction, they collect a little bit of information from this teaching and a little bit of that teaching without even paying attention to their essence. By ignoring the ascetic andtroublesome aspects of all teachings and religions, they treat even spiritual teachings as a product to be consumed!

Both the Islamic base and the core teachings of Hinduism- Buddhism aim to integrate the human soul to the Divine Creator. Therefore, any form of Sufism and Hinduism or Buddhism, Kabbalah or any mysticism which has fallen apart from the true core teachings pushes humans out of the Divine system.

Whether or not they are aware of it, modern humans deeply want to re-establish their lost relationship with the Sacred. They have a burning desire so strong that it makes them restless... A desire to return to the center, to the core of all of it; but they have lost the way back and remain route less, confused and unhappy. They feel lost. While they wish to forget the insufferable pain that is driven by the divine instinct of search; the light of the sacred seeps through the gaps of the infinite dimensions of that enigmatic existence, especially at moments never expected!

The message of the Sacred continues to emerge and disappear among the mist.
